National Second Vice President Mary Chisholm received the 2007 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award from the Professional Fraternity Association at its annual meeting held this year at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, Arizona in September. The award is presented to an individual member of a PFA member fraternity, who “deserves recognition for exceptional service or extraordinary commitment to their fraternity” and to the community. Mary was recognized for her extensive volunteer work with her church and community and for her service to Delta Omicron as a National Board Member and president of her alumni chapter Zeta Alpha.

Mary received her award at the Award Banquet held on September 7th. Other award recipients included the following:

International President Jonny Ramsey attended the PFA Conference. The annual meeting provides training and informational sessions for officers and executive directors of professional fraternities and also provides a chance for those officers to meet with associate members who provide conference planning, jewelry and fraternity merchandise, and publication services. This year’s program included sessions on membership recruitment, tax issues for fraternities and foundations, identity theft issues, fraternity archive protection and storage, and online affinity circle services. Dr. Ramsey was re-elected to the PFA Board of Directors as the Treasurer for the 2007-08 year.
