Epsilon Delta Chapter Installed at Georgia State University
Delta Omicron announces the installation of Epsilon Delta Chapter at Georgia State University. Representing the Board of Directors, Iota Province President Laura Thuirer installed the new chapter on Sunday, May 1, 2005. She was assisted by Foundation President and Past International President Dr. Kay Wideman and by members of Eta Lambda Alumni Chapter.
This chapter grew out of a two-year effort by four Delta Omicron members who transferred to Georgia State University from Morris Brown College. Led by now Chapter President Cathy Rone, the members’ diligence and persistence was rewarded as new members were initiated on May 1, and the chapter was installed in the Student Center of Georgia State University.
Following the installation ceremonies, the new initiates entertained all attendees to a varied musical program that featured vocal selections, violin pieces, a piano sonata, a dramatic reading, and a spiritual interpretative dance. The Eta Lambda Alumni Chapter welcomed the new chapter with a special serenade of original songs and provided a delicious and bountiful reception honoring the new chapter and its members.
Epsilon Delta members include Cathy Rone, Ashley Robinson,George Eugene Gray, Yalanda Goodman, Dawnalee McKenna, Sharika Allen, Hillary Arline, Antoine Laccruche, and Hilary Arline. The new chapter will be affiliated with the School of Music directed by Dr. John B. Haberlen. The chapter will be guided next year by Chapter Adviser and Faculty Sponsor Dr. Alan L. Raines.
