Groom Initiated as National Honorary Member

Dr. Mitzi Danker Groom was initiated as a National Honorary Member of Delta Omicron on November 11, 2004. The initiation ceremony occurred at the Kentucky Museum on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Omicron Omicron members, assisted by Chapter Adviser Jayne Foster and Province President Kari Carr, conducted the ceremony. A public reception followed the private ceremony. At that time, Province President Kari Carr presented Dr. Groom with a Certificate of Honor on behalf of the Fraternity.

Dr. Mitzi Groom is Head of the Department of Music at Western Kentucky University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University, a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Northern Alabama, and a PhD. in Music Education from Florida State University. She currently serves as President of the American Choral Directors Association and is well-known as a guest conductor and clinician and for publications in the choral and music education fields.
