A Citation is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the field of music as an educator, performer, composer, legislator, patron of the arts, or entrepreneur.

A Citation may also be presented to companies, corporations, and other organizations which have made significant contributions to the cause and advancement of music throughout America and other parts of the world.
