Chapter Website Guidelines


  1. Include information about Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity and link to the National D.O. Web Page at: http://www.delta-omicron.org

  2. Include a Last Updated date on the home page. (Be sure to keep your site current.)

  3. Include a calendar of Events for the chapter for the current year musicales, music service activities, campus/community service activities, scholarship projects, and fundraising activities. (Hint, most of this information is great to keep in an archive for history and can be moved there at the beginning of each school year.)
    Be sure to indicate the year for dates. It can either be a heading for a group of dates or put on each individual date.

  4. Include organizational information such as which province you are in and the other chapters in your province. Be sure to include your Province President’s name and e-mail address. If your Province President has a website for your province, link to it.

  5. Include the Membership of the Chapter and identify officers. (An extra nice touch is to include a photo and brief biographical sketch each member.)

  6. Include information about the founding of the chapter and some chapter history.

  7. Include a list of chapter alumni and, if you can, include something about each person. (Delta Omicron does not currently have an alumni directory online.)

  8. Include, at minimum, a link to the university or college where the chapter is located. Additional information about the college or university would be nice.

  9. Include a picture gallery to include photos of chapter activities, musically and just for fun photos need to be changed on a regular basis. (Rather than delete old pictures, the old pictures can be archived on an archive page.) Remember to be mindful of how much time it takes to load these pages (all pages) because many of your viewers connect to the Internet via dial up.

  10. Include your Chapter Bylaws

  11. Include Conference information for Triennium if a Conference year.

 

NOTE: It is important that the chapter web pages DO NOT include personal addresses and phone numbers of members for safety reasons. E-mail addresses will be enough. While most of the guidelines are generic enough to apply to collegiate and alumni Delta Omicron chapters, numbers’ 7 and 8 are more specific to collegiate websites.
