Pre Conference Meetings
The Board of Directors met before conference on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. They were joined by the Conference Co-Chairs Kimberley Martin-Boyd and Molly Carlson and the Province Presidents. Carol Anne Koehl and Gladys Zate guided pre-conference province president training. The Delta Omicron Foundation Trustees chaired by Dr. Kay Wideman held their annual meeting.

Thursday, July 27th
Conference opened with the first business and province sessions. Sales and exhibits were open. Zeta Eta Chapter coordinated the Silent Auction. Jonny Ramsey presided at the Welcome Dinner where Alumni Chapter Awards were presented. The dinner was followed by the Alumni Concert featuring violinist Amy Harris, flutist Suzanne Barchers, organist Hye-Jean Choi, and piano accompanist Donna Levene. This first day of meetings and concerts was the beginning of many new DO friendships and allowed for the renewal of friendships that have lasted for years.

Friday, July 28th
Delegates attended sessions on many topics throughout the day, led by Jennifer Klafeta, Sara Skok, Nancy Meyette, Carol Anne Koehl, and Gladys Zate. Song leader Mitch Ruth led the members in the “Keynote.” The chapter scrapbooks were judged. The PNOC and the Foundation met jointly. National Historian Ann Jones and Foundation Trustee Michelle Worthing presented a Delta Omicron history session.
Collegiate Awards were presented during dinner with the Collegiate Concert immediately following. Delegates were treated to performances by tenor Emory Quince and soprano Elizabeth Green of Alpha Gamma Chapter, Carole Hoste of Delta Iota Chapter and conference accompanists Carol Jamison and Kathy Vail.

Saturday, July 29th
Saturday was another busy day of conference. Joan Frey Boytim led two educational sessions on studio management and vocal literature. The presidents, both present and past, met over lunch. Flute choir members rehearsed.
There was a Premiere Concert in the afternoon, featuring two new musical compositions. The 2006 Delta Omicron Triennial Composition, “Songs for Emmy—A Song Cycle for Mezzo-Soprano and Piano” by Dr. Jay Anthony Gach, was performed by Desiree Baxter and pianist Kathy Vail. The Delta Omicron Foundation Thor Johnson Commission, Carmina Whitmania by Dr. Marshall Onofrio, was performed by baritone Robert Hall and a six-member ensemble under the baton of Dr. Onofrio. After the premiere of their works, both composers were inducted as national patrons by President Jonny Ramsey.
Province pictures were taken before the Rose and Gray banquet. Judith Eidson was awarded the Delta Omicron Career Achievement Award and Dorothy Bushing received the WHEEL of DO Award. Many other members were recognized throughout dinner for their service to the fraternity, including retiring Board members Carol Anne Koehl, Claudia Grayson, and Gladys Zate. The Artist Concert featured pianist and DO member Mary Fahrenbruck. A reception for all conference concert performers ended the evening.

Sunday, July 30th
Conference quickly can to a close. The day began with the Flute Choir, directed by Ann Droste, playing at the Lily-of-the-Valley Breakfast honoring those who passed away during the triennium. The Ecumenical Worship Service was led by Province Presidents. The last business session closed with the new Board of Directors being installed. A spontaneous and informal Sing-In brought to close the conference. DO members said good-byes to old and new friends as they began their journeys home.
