Overview

The 2009 Centennial Conference was held at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel and Convention Center in Erlanger, Kentucky from July 16 through 19, 2009.

The award-winning hotel is just three miles from the Cincinnati airport and only ten miles from Downtown Cincinnati. The area will afford convenient access to a variety of entertainment options for members who wish to arrive before or stay after conference, attractions such as shopping and dining at Newport on the Levee to baseball at the Great American Ball Park to the Newport Aquarium. Other local attractions include the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, racing at Turfway Park, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and Cincinnati’s extensive museums. Paramount’s Kings Island is close by in Mason, Ohio.

A reduced room rate of $95 will be available for Delta Omicron members who attend. That rate will also be available for a few days before and after the conference so extended vacations can be planned around the conference.

   

The Conference featured Collegiate and Alumni Concerts, an Artist Concert, the première of the 2009 Triennial Competition Composition and the Delta Omicron Foundation Thor Johnson Commissioned Composition, chapter training sessions, a silent auction, and other events. Delta Omicron members, both collegiate and alumni, found times to gather socially at evening meals, especially at the Rose & Gray Banquet.
