Conference Riverboat Luncheon & Cruise

"Picnic on the Ohio"

Travel back in time to experience our Cincinnati birth place by joining our conference delegates for a “Picnic on the Ohio.” On Saturday, July 18, conference attendees are invited to join the delegation for a riverboat luncheon and cruise on the Ohio River. What a perfect way to see Cincinnati and experience one of America’s historic rivers while enjoying fellowship with other D.O. members!

Following the Saturday business session, members will board air-conditioned buses for the short trip to the Newport Landing. There we will board a B & B Riverboat and at noon enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon of country-fried chicken and pulled-pork barbecue, Kentucky baked beans, buttered corn, home-style potato salad, cole slaw, pasta salad, vegetable crudités, potato chips, and chocolate cakes or cookies. Enjoy the Cincinnati skyline and sights through the dining room windows as you eat while we cruise up the Ohio River. When you finish eating, you may stay inside or go outside on the multiple decks to experience the riverside scenery. At 2:00 p.m., we will dock and then board our buses for our return trip. We will arrive back at the conference hotel at 3:00 p.m., just in time to enjoy our fraternity history presentation. Parking at the boarding site is available for members who prefer to travel to the boarding port by car rather than bus.

The riverboat cruise is a part of conference delegates’ meal package. However, other visiting D. O. members and guests will need to purchase the cruise package. You may do so by marking the cruise luncheon on your registration form. The cost for the cruise ($42.00) covers the meal, riverboat cruise, and busing to the board site; all is inclusive.
