About Collegiates

Collegiate Chapters: chartered in
institutions of higher learning and derive their names from the Greek
alphabet in the regular sequence according to the date of installation.
Each collegiate chapter has:

faculty sponsor (who may or may not be a member
of the fraternity) and appointed by the school administration of the
chapter

chapter advisor (selected from the alumni
membership)

a combined alumni faculty sponsor/advisor of the
above

chapter mother - and may have...

chapter patron or patroness (a person interested
in music, Delta Omicron and its members)

International Chapters: collegiate or
alumni, are chapters established outside the boundaries of the United
States. Collegiate chapters derive their names from the Greek alphabet,
prefixed by the letter Kappa. Alumni chapters derive their names by
using the name of the nearest collegiate chapter prefixed by the letter
Zeta.

Collegiate Membership: members
affiliated with a collegiate chapter (the undergraduate or graduate
student is a music major, music minor, or the equivalent of a music
minor. Upon initiation, a collegiate member becomes affiliated with the
Delta Omicron chapter located in the school where the member is
enrolled)
