(continued from page 7) educators Music through Children’s Literature: Theme and Variations and American Musicians Making History. Donna is a member of Zeta Zeta Alumni Chapter in Denver, Colorado. Kathy Gates Vail was accompanist for the Collegiate Concert and for the Triennial Competition Composition “Songs for Emmy” at the Premiere Concert. Kathy is Assistant Professor at William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where she teaches organ, handbells, and accompanies the choir and vocal students. She also directs a small vocal ensemble that is one of the primary recruiting groups for the school. They will be making their third overseas trip this fall as they visit secondary schools and universities in China. Kathy received her BM degree in Church Music with organ concentration and MM in Organ Performance from Mississippi College. She has served in churches throughout Mississippi for the past thirty years and presently plays at churches in Hattiesburg and Laurel, Mississippi. She is keyboard consultant for the Mississippi Baptist Music Department and is Dean of the South Mississippi Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She is Kappa Province President. |

Alumni Attend Conference 2009 Photo Memories |

Many alumni members attended the 2006 Triennial Conference at Illinois Wesleyan University in July of 2006. Their participation contributed greatly to the success of the conference.
Alumni delegates attended the conference business sessions, representing their chapters and alumni member concerns. They also interacted with collegians in province sessions and in lunch and dinner fellowship.
The Welcome & Alumni Dinner occurred on the first evening of conference. Alumni enjoyed fellowship during dinner, and the alumni chapter awards were presented by Second Vice President Gladys L. Zate.
Following the dinner, the members enjoyed the Alumni Concert presented by alumni performers Donna Levene (piano), Amy Harris (violin), Suzanne Barchers (flute), and Hye-Jean Choi (organ). (continued on page 9) |
