A Message from the President This is such an exciting time to be a member of Delta Omicron! During these next three years we are preparing to celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2009. As alumni, we are doubly blest because we have the memories of the past to share with younger members, can work to keep Delta Omicron operating, and can help to make its future strong and secure. First, be sure that we have your current mailing and email addresses. In this mobile society, we do not want to lose track of our members. So as you change addresses, be sure to notify our Executive Secretary at ExecSec@aol.com or 910 Church Street, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Please share your memories of your Delta Omicron collegiate days with us. Beginning next year we would like to include a section in The Whistle where alumni can share fond memories of their D.O. collegiate years. We also wish to hear about your current accomplishments. Share your thoughts and activities with our Whistle Editor Lani Yearicks this year. We invite all of our alumni to become more involved in the Delta Omicron of today. Is there an alumni chapter or club in your area? I am sure they would welcome you with open arms to join them. If there is not a chapter or club in your area, we invite you to start one. A club can form out of a simple, informal social gathering. We can help you with a list of alumni in your zip code area. If interested just contact our Director of Alumni Extension, Diane Ruth at druth@covcath.org. Alumni also are needed to serve as State Alumni Chairs. The alumni-at-large program currently is being re-organized, and we need alumni who are comfortable with computers and email and who wish to serve in this national capacity. If you would like to help Delta Omicron by serving as a State Alumni Chair, just contact our Director of Alumni-At-Large for more information: Molly G. Carlson mgcarlson@wisc.edu To help Delta Omicron grow, you also can help with collegiate extension by informing local colleges where a new D.O. chapter might be organized. Help us reactivate your home chapter if it is inactive by helping us with faculty contact information. Alumni interest is a major stimulus to chapter reactivation. Send information on chapter extension to the International President at president@delta-omicron.org. Would it not be exciting to know you helped reactivate your chapter before our Centennial Celebration? We encourage you to read about our Centennial Campaign in the information in this Whistle. To insure that Delta Omicron is financially secure to advance into our second century, we are asking all members to contribute at least $100 to the fraternity over the next three years. Your support will help our endowment, journal, and operating funds and will help secure the future of our fraternity. Our alumni are the foundation of our organization. We hope that you will share your time, talent, and continued support to help our fraternity grow. Please stay connected to Delta Omicron Best wishes in Delta Omicron, Dr. Jonny H.
