Delta Omicron Receives

PFA Awards

At the Professional Fraternity Association Convention in Los Angeles, California, in September 2004, Delta Omicron received two awards.  Epsilon Beta Chapter received the PFA Outstanding Professional Program Award for its Delta Omicron Summer Music Camp for Children Project.  Past President/National Historian Ann Anthony Jones was recognized with the PFA Faculty Adviser Award of Excellence for her guidance of Alpha Gamma Chapter as Chapter Adviser for 38 years.  Alpha Gamma has received the Fraternity’s highest chapter award, the Award of Excellence, for 35 consecutive years.

Executive Office Has a New Home

The Delta Omicron Executive Office has moved from its apartment suite to a house.  The new address is 910 Church Street, Jefferson City, TN 37760.  The move was made to provide more office space and to protect the Fraternity archives.  The house offers an office area for the Executive Secretary, a room for archive and fraternity supplies storage, and another room that will eventually be a meeting room.  It also has a small kitchen and a full bath.  Close to the house is a finished studio that will be used for additional storage.

The move occurred in early September 2005.  Executive Secretary Julie Hensley labeled everything to be moved from the East Ellis office.  She and members of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City used cars and trucks to move everything in less than two hours to the new Church Street address.  Alpha Gamma Chapter had a great time being a part of this historic move.  Alpha Gamma members who participated were Elissa Keck, Matt Cunningham, Adam Barley, Jonathan Robinson, Claire Brewer, Will Davis, Katie Puckett, Megan Best, Betsy Green, Sarah Phillips, and other student friends.  Ann Jones sponsored a pizza party for the “movers” to celebrate their hard work when the task was completed.
