Alumni Chair of the Year

Patricia Crewdson Harris was appointed Nebraska’s Area Chairman in 1994 and has enjoyed the new DO friendships she has made from some of the past area newsletters.  She is a 1961 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, then called Kearney State College, with a Bachelor of Music Education and has completed some graduate courses in Elementary Music at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she resides.  She was initiated into Delta Chi Chapter at Kearney in the spring of 1958.  Pat has served Zeta Mu Alumni Chapter in most officer positions and is presently the Publicity Chairman.  She received the Star of DO from Zeta Mu.

Pat taught music in some small schools in Nebraska and substitute taught music in the Lincoln Public Schools for 10 years.  She then left teaching and worked for Sears for 20 years before taking early retirement.  She was the Children’s Choir Director at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church for many years and sings in the church choir and Voices of Joy, a small group of mature ladies at church.  She also played in the Bell Choir.

Since her husband Roger’s retirement, Pat’s highest priorities are going to grandchildren’s soccer games, camping, traveling, and spending winter months in Phoenix, Arizona.  Of course, she also enjoys spending lots of quality time with her nine grandchildren.
