social level that has been very special to me. I
also got to know famous composers such as Jean Berger when I sang in a concert
where he accompanied me on piano. I have never regretted joining Delta
Omicron. What a great experience it has been!
I was initiated into Sigma Chapter at Illinois
Wesleyan University and was Treasurer and President of the chapter.
I live in an area that does not have an alumni chapter or club.
Several years after graduation, I wanted to get involved in Delta
Omicron again, so I asked what I could do to help.
It turned out that D.O. was in need of a Province President for Delta
Province in Illinois. I was happy to be
involved again in Delta Omicron, especially since I work in a field outside of
music.
Since 1996, I have been on the Board of Directors.
First I was Editor, and now I am Treasurer.
I am also the Area Chair for Illinois.
By being involved in Delta Omicron after graduation, I have met people
and become friends with people that I would not have otherwise had the
opportunity to meet. Some of these
people, especially those on the board, make of an extended family.
Our common interest is the success of Delta Omicron, but we are there
to support each other professionally as well as personally.
By getting involved with Delta Omicron after graduation, you never know
where it could lead or who you could meet along the way.
Jennifer Klafeta, National Treasurer
